Grilled grapefruit - Bachelors Test KitchenSometimes, you just don’t need to overcomplicate things. I saw a recipe not long ago for broiled grapefruit, and I thought that might make a nice addition to breakfast in the mountains this past weekend. I used a grill instead of the broiler and regular white sugar instead of brown, and it turned out great. The grapefruits I got happened to be spectacular, and when you have good ingredients, you just don’t need to do too much to them. So, here’s my recipe:

  1. Cut grapefruits in half; bring grill to high heat
  2. Sprinkle the cut sides of the grapefruit with sugar and a little salt
  3. Grill grapefruit, cut sides down
  4. Flip grapefruit after 5 minutes or so, sprinkle cut sides with more sugar
  5. Remove from grill when grapefruit are heated through
