Smoothies are awesome, but can be kind of a hassle if you have to clean your blender by hand or wait for a whole cycle of dishes to be washed before you can make another smoothie. But what if you could make a smoothie, then drink it out of that same container?! Your mind would probably be blown and you’d start drinking smoothies way more often. I recently learned that standard mason jars, which are the perfect size for a smoothie, also fit on most blenders! This is just the first of several smoothie tips I’m about to drop on you right now.
Good Smoothie Tips
- Make your smoothie in a mason jar, as described above. Then all you have to clean is the blender blade, and put the jar in the dishwasher. You probably have lots of mason jars on hand, or could easily get some. I think the one in the picture originally held store-bought pasta sauce.
- Use a single-serving greek yogurt flavor that matches your smoothie flavor. In this case, I used Fage 0% blueberry and goji berry flavor. Add milk to thin out the smoothie if it’s too thick.
- Use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes. You can just buy frozen fruit in the freezer section of the grocery store. It’s cheaper than fresh fruit and your smoothie won’t get all watered down.
There are only two things that I can confidently claim to be really, really good at making: smoothies and hamburgers. And now you can also make incredible smoothies. You’ll probably have to wait till the summer for burgers, though.
